My Grandmother's "Superb Slaw"
As it has come up recently, here is the recipe for my Grandmother's cole slaw. This is a vinegar and oil slaw recipe that is best prepared a day in advance of serving. Store in the refrigerator.
Superb Slaw
1 medium head cabbage, shredded
1 medium sized onion, thinly sliced
7/8 cup sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp celery seed
3/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup oil
Place cabbage and onion (mixed) in a bowl. Top with sugar. Boil remaining ingredients in saucepan. Pour over cabbage while hot.
