One down, 19 to go!

Toothless Wonder
Today, Ivy lost her first tooth. For a child that was very late in getting her first tooth, she is right on average for loosing the first one. Most children get all their teeth between the ages of 4 and 12 months. Both Ivy and Rose got their first tooth at 15 months.

She is very excited to tell her friends at school. They apparently have a chart that shows how many people lost teeth in a given month. It would have been a shame for her not to be on that chart if she had gone by our predictions of when she had lost a tooth. This was so unexpected, that when the tooth first became loose, we told her not to play with it until we had a little time to check it out. We were concerned that she had damaged the tooth somehow. After a little time, I was checking it and noticed the new tooth coming in behind it. She was then given permission to wiggle it. Apparently, she was eating a pickle today and it got really loose, so she then played with it until it came out.

Sparkling Snow
In other news, it snowed like crazy today. I went into work and Glenn telecommuted to stay home with the kids since school was called off. Yes - there was enough snow for schools to be cancelled here. 9.6 inches officially at the airport, and 11.5 inches at the TV station. Now we are having trouble with drifting snow.

The snow was really sparkling in the lights at night and looking very pretty. My drives to and from work were fair. This morning it was very difficult to see in front of the car. The drive home was better, even though it had been snowing all day, the plows had been out and the roads were mostly clear, mostly.

And you told me not to drive, but I made it home alive. So you said that only proves that I'm insane -- Billy Joel
